Media workshop on Digital Bangladesh at Barisal held

A one-day workshop on Digital Bangladesh for local journalists was held at Barisal city on 21 March with an aim to clear the understanding on the issues of Digital Bangladesh.

 “People believe journalists, so they can spread the message of Digital Bangladesh,” said Advocate Shawkat Hossain Hiron, Barisal City Mayor, as Chief Guest. He said that main aim of digital Bangladesh is to establish a country free from corruption and hunger.

Access to Information (a2i) Programme and Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) jointly organized the media workshop. As many as 45 journalists from different districts of the division attended in the programme.

AKM Shameem Chowdhuri, Principal Information Officer of Press Information Department (PID) Md. Aftab Ali, Additional Divisional Commissioner, Md. Mashiur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner, Barisal spoke as special guests. S M Akash, Communication and Media Manager of a2i programme, gave the key-note presentation.

As part of its media sensitization initiatives, a2i has been organizing media workshops in divisional headquarters. The next media workshop on the subject will be held in Bogra for the journalists of the Rajshahi division.
